Spherical Washer — Product Introduction
The spherical washer is manufactured to the GB/T 849—1988 standard, with one side featuring a convex spherical surface and the other side flat. It is typically used in conjunction with the beveled washer (GB/T 850—1988). Through the engagement of the spherical surface with the beveled surface, the washer can automatically adjust the angular deviation between the bolt, nut, and bearing surface, ensuring uniform load distribution and preventing bolt bending or fracture caused by eccentric loading. It is a bearing washer with built-in self-aligning functionality.
I. Product Features
- Standardized construction: Dimensions conform to GB/T 849—1988, designed for use with beveled washers, offering good interchangeability.
- Spherical design: One side features a convex spherical surface that mates with the concave spherical surface of the beveled washer, forming a self-aligning pivot bearing structure.
- High hardness: Typically undergoes quenching and tempering, resulting in high surface hardness with excellent wear and compression resistance.
- Smooth contact surface: The flat side contacts the nut or bolt head with a smooth finish, reducing friction and minimizing scratches.
- Simple structure: Formed by stamping or machining as a single piece with no complex features, facilitating easy installation.
II. Product Advantages
- Self-aligning capability: Compensates for non-perpendicularity between the bearing surface and bolt axis, eliminating eccentric loading.
- Uniform load distribution: Evenly transfers load on inclined, uneven, or angularly misaligned surfaces.
- Bolt protection: Reduces additional bending stress on bolts, lowers fatigue fracture risk, and extends service life of the connection.
- Enhanced reliability: Maintains stable connection under complex operating conditions such as vibration and impact, preventing loosening.
- Easy installation: Achieves self-alignment simply by pairing with the beveled washer, requiring no complex adjustments or special tools.
III. Application Scope
Spherical washers are widely used in bolted connections requiring self-alignment, including:
- General machinery: Base plates and flange connections for machine tools, gearboxes, motors, pumps, and similar equipment.
- Steel structures: Bolted connections with angular deviations in bridges, building steel structures, and towers.
- Construction machinery: Complex-load locations in excavators, loaders, lifting equipment, and similar machines.
- Mining and metallurgical equipment: Crushers, vibrating screens, rolling mills, and other equipment with high vibration and eccentric loading.
- Automotive and railway vehicles: Suspension, steering, and frame connections.
- Power equipment: Transformer, switchgear, and busbar connections.
