Spring Nut,Plate Spring Nut— Product Introduction
The spring clip nut (also called plate spring nut) is a self-locking nut formed by stamping from spring steel plate, primarily used for rapid threaded connections on thin sheets, sheet metal edges, or hole positions. The product adopts an elastic clamping structure; during installation it is directly snapped into the sheet edge or hole, and relies on the elastic recovery force of the spring plate to clamp the sheet, forming a reliable threaded connection without the need for pre-welding nuts or tapping threads on the thin sheet. This product is typically made from high-quality spring steel such as 65Mn, SAE 1065, or 1070. After quenching and tempering treatment, hardness is generally controlled at HRC 42–50, offering excellent elasticity, wear resistance, and fatigue resistance. Common surface treatments include zinc plating, phosphating, and blackening to enhance corrosion resistance. Product specifications cover both metric and inch thread sizes and are widely used in automotive, home appliances, electronic equipment, architectural hardware, and all kinds of sheet metal connection applications.
I. Product Features
- Elastic clamping structure: Plate spring design — after installation, the elastic recovery force of the spring plate clamps the sheet, effectively preventing loosening.
- No welding or tapping required: No pre-welding of nuts or machining of internal threads on the sheet is needed; it can be directly snapped into the sheet edge or hole, simplifying the connection process.
- Good elasticity and hardness: Made from spring steel with heat treatment, hardness is typically HRC 42–50, balancing elasticity and durability.
- Multiple specifications available: Metric, inch, and other thread specifications are available to match different bolts and screws.
- Diverse surface treatments: Zinc plating, phosphating, blackening, and other treatments are available to meet corrosion resistance requirements for different environments.
- Strong adaptability: Corresponding specifications can be selected based on sheet thickness and hole diameter, offering high installation flexibility.
II. Product Advantages
- Quick installation: Directly snaps into the sheet to form a threaded connection, significantly reducing assembly steps and improving production efficiency.
- Reliable connection: Elastic clamping force keeps the nut tightly against the sheet, providing excellent vibration resistance and anti-loosening performance.
- Suitable for thin sheets: Provides stable threaded connections on relatively thin sheets, avoiding problems such as welding deformation or tapping difficulty on thin materials.
- Low cost: Stamped and mass-produced, with economical pricing — a cost-effective alternative to welded or riveted nuts.
- High versatility: Widely compatible with various bolts and screws, suitable for large-scale standardized assembly.
- Easy maintenance: Quick to disassemble and replace, facilitating equipment repair and part replacement.
III. Application Scope
- Automotive industry: Connections in body sheet metal parts, interior brackets, chassis thin plates, and electrical mounting plates.
- Home appliances: Sheet metal housing and internal bracket connections in air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines, and microwave ovens.
- Electronic equipment: Sheet metal assembly in computer cases, enclosures, instrument housings, and control cabinets.
- Architectural hardware: Connections in metal doors and windows, ventilation ducts, ceiling brackets, and light-weight frame structures.
- Rail transit: Connections in vehicle interior panels, equipment mounting plates, and electrical enclosures with thin-walled structures.
- Other general industries: Wherever rapid and reliable threaded connections need to be formed on thin sheets or sheet edges, spring clip nuts (plate spring nuts) can be used.
