Clip Nut — Product Introduction

The clip nut, also known as spring nut, card-style nut, U-clip nut, or edge clinch nut, is a fastener that uses an elastic clip to engage the edge of a thin plate, a pre-punched hole, or a profile groove. During installation, no welding, pre-tapping, or access from the opposite side of the plate is required; simply snap the nut into the plate edge or mounting hole, and a reliable internal thread connection point is established. Clip nuts are typically made of spring steel or stainless steel, offering excellent elasticity and clamping force, with surface treatments such as zinc plating, nickel plating, black oxide, or Dacromet available. They are widely used in automobiles, sheet metal cabinets, household appliances, electronic equipment, and various thin-plate structures.

Hot-dip galvanizing and Dacromet are common choices for outdoor applications. For humid, coastal or chemical environments, stainless steel 304/316 or higher corrosion-resistant solutions may be better.

Bolts and nuts should match nominal diameter, thread pitch, thread type, standard and strength grade. High-strength connections should also use suitable washers and anti-loosening solutions.
